THE DARKNESS: More 'The Horn' Details Revealed; Album Special Edition Announced
December 4, 2013Currently travelling the length and breadth of the U.K. on their longest tour to date, reformed British rockers THE DARKNESS have announced details of a brand new track and a special edition of their third album "Hot Cakes".
"The Horn" is available immediately digitally (at all good retailers!) and was recorded at The Hawk's Nest, guitarist Dan Hawkins' studio in Norfolk. There will also be a limited-edition seven-inch picture disc available (500 copies) through the band's web site, TheActualDarkness.com. "The Horn" is backed with a new recording of THE DARKNESS' Christmas No. 2 single that should have been No. 1, "Christmas Time, (Don't Let The Bells End)" and features the Seagull Theatre Train Children's Choir from Lowestoft.
A special edition iTunes bundle of the "Hot Cakes" album is also available featuring the album plus "The Horn" / "Christmas Time" plus a set of live favorites recorded at Thetford Forest, Suffolk in summer of 2012. The live set will also be available separately, under the title "The Platinum Correction".
THE DARKNESS' 28-date tour, which has already seen legendary performances throughout November, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the band's triple platinum, legendary No. 1 debut album "Permission To Land", which featured the classics "Get Your Hands Off My Woman" and "I Believe In a Thing Called Love" and garnered the band 3 Brit Awards. They are playing the record in full alongside their hits from the subsequent two Top 10 albums "One Way Ticket To Hell And Back" and last year's "Hot Cakes".
